On the front page for this month at Joyland San Francisco, their first translation: Georges-Olivier Châteaureynaud’s “The Excursion.”
The latest issue of PEN America, the journal of the PEN organization is out, with my translation of an excerpt from Zeina Abirached’s A Game for Swallows, previously featured in Words Without Borders.
Among the ads in the back are a nifty page spread for the book, as well as a page devoted to upcoming releases from Small Beer Press, including Alasdair Gray’s Old Men in Love, Julia Holmes’ Meeks, and of course Georges-Olivier Châteaureynaud’s A Life on Paper. Also among the cool things therein is part of a letter that author and Small Beer editor Jed “Mr. Manual of Detection†Berry wrote to E.T.A. Hoffmann.
And here’s a round-up of the posts I did a while back at Open Letter’s Three Percent blog, by topic:
- Foreignization and Neologism
- Titles are the Hardest Part
- Belgian School of the Bizarre
- Toward New Ways of Reading
